A lifelong car lover, Jerry Chenkin joined Honda back in 1975, shortly after moving to Canada from the UK. Four decades later, he is Honda Canada’s president and CEO, with responsibility for all business and manufacturing operations and a seat on Honda’s North American Regional Operation Board. Jerry is a keen traveler, and also enjoys music, squash and golf. Tully Luxury Travel caught up with Jerry Chenkin to find out about his travel essentials and packing habits.

What kind of bags do you travel with?

My suitcase is a Samsonite Blue Jays customized suitcase that I received at Blue jays training camp (Honda Canada has an ongoing partnership with the Toronto’s Major League Baseball team). If I’m not checking bags I take my Tumi Hybrid roll-on and Tumi briefcase (1).

Tell us about the three essentials you always bring with you…

An item of clothing

Gym shoes shorts and shirt (2).

An accessory

Bose noise canceling in-ear headphones (3).

A grooming/ beauty product

Whatever is less than 100ml so I can carry it on (4).

What tech do you always take on vacation?

My laptop (5) and iPhone (6).

What do you read when travelling?

I read automotive-related literature most of the time. Otherwise, I pack my Kobo ebook (7) loaded with the latest fiction.

What’s the one thing you’d NEVER travel without?

All the cables I need to recharge everything in the hotel room.
