A New Reigning Monarch of the Seas
Regent Seven Seas Cruises' new ship will deliver the ultimate in luxury
From its exquisite marble floors and glass staircases in the lobby to its lavish, near 4,000-square-foot Regent Suite, the highly-anticipated Seven Seas Explorer is touted as the most luxurious cruise ship ever to set sail.
Thirteen years after its last ship was introduced, Regent Seven Seas Cruises’ new vessel will set a new standard for luxury cruises.
Boasting the highest space ratios in the industry, along with exceptionally high staff-to-guest ratios, Seven Seas Explorer features inspired dining options, sultry lounges and lush suites.
The 3,875-square-foot, two-bedroom Regent Suite, the cornerstone of this astonishing ship, comes with its own in-room spa, including unlimited complimentary treatments, as well as an
outdoor, glass-enclosed sitting area with unobstructed views over the ship’s bow. The living room features a black marble bar, a custom Steinway Arabesque piano and a collection of limited- edition art books. In the bedroom, floor-to-ceiling windows and a Savoir king-size bed make for a dreamy retreat.
Regent Suite guests can also expect a private car and driver in every port of call. “There really is nothing like this in the industry today,” says Jason Montague, President and Chief Operating
Officer for Regent Seven Seas Cruises.
The ship’s entry-level accommodations offer equally lavish details. Its spacious suites include king-sized beds made with sumptuous linens and oversized bathrooms adorned with rich marble and decorative tile. All 375 suites include a private balcony. The ten categories of suites range from the 307-square-foot Veranda Suite to the exquisite 3,875-square-foot Regent Suite.
“We are delighted to be able to offer this unique luxury experience to our customers,” says Mary Jean Tully, Founder & CEO of Tully Luxury Travel, a Canadian travel agency that has been a Condé Nast Traveler Travel Specialist for the last 15 years. Tully, a leader in the luxury travel
field and one of Regent’s top-producing agencies in the world, is also a Preferred Partner of Four Seasons and Ritz-Carlton.
Tully and her key travel designers have been invited on board the Seven Seas Explorer’s inaugural sailing in July and says the new ship is selling extremely well.
World-renowned firms Tillberg Design, CallisonRTKL and ICRAVE collectively designed the extraordinary ship, which boasts three specialty restaurants, including two brand new restaurant concepts, the Asian-inspired Pacific Rim and French-inspired Chartreuse.
Pacific Rim features pan-Asian dishes such as tempura-encrusted soft shell crab with green chili aioli, and cassia-braised pork belly with grilled diver scallops. The design of the space is
similarly inspired with metal and wood tables, leather banquettes, smoky mirrors and Chinese screens.
Chartreuse evokes Parisian fine dining with cobblestone-like flooring and a silver-leafed ceiling. Lit by a wall of decorative lanterns and a crystal chandelier, a garden area creates the illusion of al fresco dining in a Parisian courtyard.
Menu highlights include poached Brittany blue lobster tail on a bed of Sologne white asparagus and delectable desserts such as the classic savarin cake made with aged Martinique rum and topped with vanilla cream.
Beyond its gourmet restaurants, Seven Seas Explorer boasts several elegant spaces to mix and mingle. The two-tiered Constellation Theater pays homage to the glamour of Hollywood’s
golden age, with cabaret-style seating, cocktail tables and banquettes. The Observation Lounge recalls the Roaring Twenties, with a folded metal canopy surrounding the lounge’s bar
and a crystal chandelier lighting up the dance floor. Additionally, guests can take in the country club ambience of the Explorer Lounge, with its mahogany wood columns and leather chairs.
The boutique experience extends to the Seven Seas Explorer itineraries. From touring the Italian coast to sailing the Greek islands, the ship’s intimate size gives her guests the unique chance to get up close and personal with many of the world’s most coveted destinations,
including Monte Carlo, Athens, Venice, Jerusalem, Cairo and Rome.
The Seven Seas Explorer is about to take the luxury cruise experience to a new level. Venice is one of the destinations available on the new ship’s itineraries. In addition to its unique itineraries, Regent Seven Seas Cruises has unveiled a collection of exclusive culinary-inspired Gourmet Explorer Tours shore excursions for the ship’s inaugural Mediterranean season. Guest are given the opportunity to partake in once-in-lifetime experiences
including strolls through local markets, tours with chefs of Michelin-starred restaurants and countryside cooking demonstrations.
Back on board, guests are able to expand their culinary skills at the ship’s Culinary Arts Kitchen, designed to resemble the most prestigious cooking schools in France. The centre includes 18 individual cooking stations fully equipped with top-of-the-line induction cooktops, stainless steel sinks and a collection of cooking essentials. Of course, floor-to-ceiling windows serve up magnificent ocean vistas to inspire the most seasoned gourmet.
It’s all par for the course for this queen of the sea, whose fresh take on luxury knows no bounds.
A new reigning monarch of the sea Regent Seven Seas Cruises’ new ship will deliver the ultimate in luxury.
